The Difference tool has a quite narrow application. It is used to generate new columns with the numerical difference between rows.

Select Column(s)

Select the column(s) that you want to calculate a row-wise difference with

Input Column Prefix

The Difference tool generates new columns. Input a prefix for those new column.

When To Use

The Difference tool is especially useful when you have data that is time-based and need a quick way to get a row-difference between number columns. Such as calculating a month-on-month absolute difference in sales, profit or costs.
