Quickstart
Use Connectors to get your data into Less
We’re in the process of finishing all the Connector guides. Reach out to us for support in the meantime!
You can read more generally about Connectors here.
There are couple of inputs that occur across most connectors. We have left these fields out of the specific connectors guides for simplicity. You can read what they are and how to configure them below.
Connector Name
Connector Name
Input a name for the connector. This name is only usable inside Less for organising your workspace.
Select Destination Database
Select Destination Database
You have the option to select which database will store the tables generated by the connection. This is only viewable if you have created or connected to multiple database.
Choose Data
Choose Data
This field controls which tables you would like to extract with the connector. Simply click on the checkboxes to select that table of extraction.
Table Prefix
Table Prefix
By default we give the tables a prefix with the Connector Name (see the first accordion). However, you can overwrite that with your own prefix by inputting something here. This can be particularly helpful if you have multiple connections to the same source (e.g. two Meta Ads connectors for two separate entities).
Skip output to database
Skip output to database
It is optional whether you want to store you table in a database. Less comes with built-in storage. This storage is optimized for data analytics and much, much, much faster than storing your table in your database.
If you don’t need to store the table in a database, check this option.
So when should you use this option? If you need the table for reporting in Tableau/PowerBI/other where you are connecting to the Less database (or your own that you have connected to Less), you should not check this.
The reason for this feature is that many only use a fraction of their raw data in reporting and by utilizing this option, you will get significantly faster processes until you have narrowed down your dataset for reporting purposes. For instance, you might connect to HubSpot but want to transform all the data before sending it to a database. If that’s the case, you should check this box.
Update Frequency
Update Frequency
Select when you would like to update the connection.
Update Timing
Update Timing
Input at which time during the day you want the connection to update.
